Recap · Season 5

Weeks 6-10: The Bot Will Decide

Nine forfeits, one overslept alarm clock, and elite ball from everyone who showed up: Stew hits 5-0 with a 52-27 statement, the champ rips off a 2-0 rebuttal week, KJ ends Silingi’s famous technicality, and Dre follows a 63-piece with a 7-6 nap.

Season Five, Weeks 6-10 — the Bot’s era
Season Five, Weeks 6-10 — the Bot’s era

Five more weeks of Season Five are in the books — well, seventeen results are in the books. Nine of them are forfeits, which makes this stretch less a schedule than an attendance sheet. The commissioner's desk has a new doctrine for the era, delivered in his customary font: "Remember if you haven played or started by 7:15pm ET The Bot will decide!" The Bot decided a lot. Here's what the humans did when they showed up.

The played ball was excellent

Norman rolls on: Oklahoma 52, Texas A&M 27. Stew's only played game of the stretch was a 25-point statement, and the king now sits 5-0 in games that involved two controllers. The scouting report on his only remaining obstacle came from the man himself, posted while recruiting Jason back into the league: "Pat the God." When the career points leader starts filing opposition research in the group chat, the collision is getting close.

The champ's rebuttal tour: Ole Miss 45-17, then 27-17. Two games, two double-digit wins over Bawce and Work, and the title defense is back over .500 at 2-1. The Week 0 loss to States is aging into an outlier; the rematch remains unscheduled and heavily discussed.

The technicality is dead: TCU 42, Texas Tech 21. Silingi's famous distinction — zero played losses in league history — ended in Fort Worth at the hands of a KJ team quietly sitting 3-1. Lubbock's file now contains a loss like everybody else's. The Analyst has been notified.

LT lives: Clemson 28, SMU 0. The commissioner's program made its season debut a shutout. One game, zero points allowed, maximum "reloading, allegedly" energy.

The GOTW: Oregon 28, Ohio State 17. Bowzer over Curt in the week's marquee — and the same week Bowzer relaunched the #big-games desk ("Trying something new"). Winning the broadcast AND the game is vertical integration.

Michigan's week of extremes: 63-9, then 7-6. Dre dropped sixty-three on USC in the most lopsided played game of the season — and then lost to Oregon by forfeit, 7-6 on the ledger, because of the most honest absence excuse ever filed: "that's on me I overslept !" The vault allows 9 points a month and one nap a season. Per league law the 7-6 doesn't touch his real record; per league memory it will never be forgotten.

TBO keeps receipts: Arizona State 28, Texas Tech 16. Quietly 2-0 played, quietly last year's Big 12 runner-up, quietly tired of being described as quiet.

The Bot's ledger

For the record and the record only: Miami banked two forfeit wins (Lute is the stretch's undisputed attendance champion), Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, SMU, Texas A&M and Tennessee each collected one, and Purp's entire Season Five "résumé" remains a single 46-24 forfeit — the most dangerous out in the field has still not played a down. None of these count in any user-vs-user record. All of them count in the roast.

Around the chat

  • Jason is back. The announcement: "I'm back Mf." The welcome-home from Stew: "thought one of them lot lizards took u out." The league's most generous recruiter immediately started taking bookings: "I want Jordan crybaby ass week one."
  • The film room opened. Tayne submitted his pass-protection tape for public review — "I'm asking why my lineup isn't picking that up" — and States returned the verdict free of charge: "That's a lot of time Tayne. Bad qb awareness." Tayne, gracious patient: "You got it brother."
  • Quan released his defensive playbook to the public domain: "I stayed in cover 4 the whole game out of nickle." Stew, preserving competitive integrity: "leave it alone please lol."
  • Ice Man, 0-2, on his settings: "Man don't hate because I like full control of my passing." States: "You have the least control of your passing on that setting." The investigation continues.

Standings check: Norman 5-0, Happy Valley 3-0 and idle since Week 4, the champ climbing at 2-1. The three-way collision at the top of the league has now gone five weeks without a scheduling conflict brave enough to resolve it.
