Championship week is in the books, the bracket dropped at two in the morning, and Season Five has produced something this league has never seen: three unbeaten teams, 13-0 apiece, stacked at the top of the same playoff. Also produced: an 11-seed with two rings, a Heisman grand larceny, and a 4-seed whose entire season is three games long. Let's take it from the top.
Championship Week
SEC: Oklahoma 34, Tennessee 29. The king finishes the regular season perfect, banks a second straight SEC crown, and needed every snap to do it — Purp, playing just his third game of the season, pushed the 13-0 juggernaut to the wire. Stew leaves with the trophy, the inside track to Atlanta, and, per JT's police report, something else: "If yall see that man Stew in the street drop his location mf done stole my Heisman award last night while I was in the game." The Heisman lives in Norman now. Lock your doors.
B1G: Penn State 45, Oregon 20. Last season Bowzer beat States 24-14 for this exact trophy. States spent a year at 13-0 preparing his answer and delivered it by twenty-five. The calendar man — who opened the season with the champ's scalp and never slowed down — is unbeaten, crowned, and quietly assembling the best season anybody's had since the belt era began.
ACC: Clemson 42, Miami 14. Say it loud: LT has his crown. After last year's ACC title famously walked away on a forfeit, the commissioner went 13-0, hung 42 on Lute in the final, and turned "reloading, allegedly" into the most dangerous program in the conference. Zero rings remains the resume's only blank line — and this is the best team he's ever brought to December.
Big 12: TCU 40, Arizona State 38. The war everyone expected: KJ and TBO traded the lead all night for the second straight year, and KJ repeated by a field goal's margin. Back-to-back Big 12 crowns, a 12-1 season — and a committee verdict that had him filing grievances all week: "the committee be hating😂 I beat Miami by 45 and they rank him over me." The numbers: "i beat the last 3 ranked teams I played by a total of 97 points and they got me at 12😂." The committee's response was a 5-seed and a first-round date with a CPU. Flowers come in strange arrangements.
The late-regular-season wire
- Week 13, the game of the year so far: Tennessee 38, Ole Miss 35. Purp, in his SECOND played game of the season, took down the back-to-back champ. States, watching the Vols' backfield work: "Who the hell is Purp running back doing that shit" — and then, already recruiting: "I need him when you leave Tennessee in the portal."
- The Game: Michigan 28, Ohio State 7. Dre over Curt in the rivalry, again, this time with the #big-games desk narrating its own funeral. The vault defense allowed 7. Standard.
- Notre Dame 70, USC 20. Tayne dropped SEVENTY on Teeric — the most points any user team has scored this season — ten weeks after calling himself a shitter at four in the morning. Character development.
- Penn State 21, Ohio State 7 closed States' perfect regular season the way it started: on schedule, by double digits, no comments filed.
The Playoff: three unbeatens, one bracket
The field, seeded (byes to the top four): 1 Clemson (13-0), 2 Penn State (13-0), 3 Oklahoma (13-0), 4 Tennessee (12-1), then TCU, Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame, Miami, Arizona State, the back-to-back champion at ELEVEN, and CPU qualifier UAB at twelve. Title game: Atlanta.
First round:
- 12 UAB at 5 TCU — the Frogs host the machine's invitee; the Sugar Bowl and 4-seed Tennessee await. KJ's scouting report on his own path: "I got a tough 1st round but imma get this dub."
- 9 Miami at 8 Notre Dame — Lute's first playoff trip in the accredited era runs into the 70-point Irish; the winner gets No. 1 Clemson in the Peach.
- 11 Ole Miss at 6 Michigan — the headliner. The two-time defending champ, on the road, against Dre's 11-1 vault — a defense that's allowed 7, 9, and 7 in its last three real games. Survive that, and the reward is No. 3 Oklahoma in the Fiesta: Stew-Pat IV, two rounds early, with the belt tiebreaker on the line. The committee buried the champ at 11. The champ was seeded 8th last year and left with the trophy. The committee appears incapable of learning.
- 10 Arizona State at 7 Oregon — TBO gets a shot at redemption week one; the winner draws unbeaten Penn State in the Rose.
The math that matters: Penn State and Oklahoma sit in the same half — at most one unbeaten reaches Atlanta from that side, and Clemson waits on the other. The belt is tied 2-2 between Stew and Pat, and both are alive in the same quarter of the bracket. Purp, who has beaten the champ already and taken the king to the wire, lurks at the 4 with the shortest résumé and the hottest tape in the field.
Front-office wire
Bhog announced his farewell tour — "you can replace me after this season. I'm focusing on Madden" — BYU goes open at season's end, mormans and all. A familiar face is back shopping the vacancy list, with the commissioner "releasing the best teams available soon." And LT spent championship week exporting the league itself: 103 Campus Kings players made his Madden 2028 draft class ("CAMPUS KINGS → MADDEN KINGS"), meaning your busts are now someone else's problem in a second video game.
